Browning Rifles: A-Bolt, BAR And BLR Rifles

Very few gun companies have produced weapons of such innovation and quality as Browning Rifles. Browning Rifles are a result of the inventive genius of John Moses Browning, an arms designer born in the 19th Century. The effects of Browning rifles can be see in both modern warfare and contemporary society. Browning rifles offered soldiers (and later, organized crime units) the ability to possess a lightweight automatic weapon. By doing so, Browning thought he would alter the course of modern warfare and end the terrible trench warfare stalemate of WWI.

One ironic anecdote that exemplifies Browning's contribution to history is that of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. When Gavrillo Princip murdered the famous Archduke, he used the Browning-designed handgun, FN Model 1910. As a result of this action, WWI broke out and the infamous trench war took hold of Western Europe. In 1918, as a means to end the war that had ravaged Europe, Browning invented the automatic rifle. Browning hoped that the automatic weapon would provide the allies with the necessary power to end the war once and for all.

This story is an accurate description of the Browning Rifle's contribution to society—both helpful and destructive, depending on who is behind the barrel. Just as easily have Browning Rifles fallen into the hands of criminals as those of police officers. For this reason, Browning rifles, like most weapons, hold an enigmatic position in history.

History aside, Browning Rifles have become an industry standard in terms of quality and performance capability. Browning Rifles have continually pushed the boundaries of weapons performance, both for professional soldiers and recreational hunters. Known for their sleek design and precision oriented features, Browning Rifles have become a standard name in the weapons industry.

The Browning Automatic Rifle or BAR rifles are not only the most famous of all Browning Rifles, but also, one of the most influential. BAR rifles were first given to infantrymen in the closing months of WWI, and were later modified and updated for the Second World War and the Korean War. Eventually, the BAR rifle design was sold to a Belgium company and found its way into the ranks of countries from around the continent. But like all good things, this particular model of Browning Rifles was eventually weeded out of the ranks of major military forces. Today, BAR rifles are used primarily for hunting purposes and cost anywhere from $800 to $1,200.

Browning A-Bolt Rifles are some of the most popular guns on the market today. Known for their accuracy, sleek design work, and fine finish,  A-bolt Rifles offer gun enthusiasts a high-quality product with a reasonable price tag. Most  weigh between 6-8 pounds and come with various options, so hunters can find the perfect match for their needs. Also,  A-Bolt Rifles can be equipped with the BOSS (Ballistic Optimizing Shooting System), an accuracy enhancing recoil reduction system.

Browning Lightweight Rifles or BLR rifles offer the user exactly that: a lightweight weapon perfect for mobile hunting. They are used primarily by hunters and allow hunters to easily run with the weapon, but not lose any of the power offered by the larger models. BLR rifles come with a variety of options and will cost anywhere between $800 to $1,000.

Browning Rifles have become an American icon, known both for their innovation and performance. The legendary history of the founder and the pivotal role they have had in American history make Browning Rifles such an iconic weapon for so many gun enthusiasts.
